Jordan Henderson says Liverpool “aren’t getting carried away” after keeping pace with Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Jurgen Klopp’s side eased past Crystal Palace courtesy of a 4-2 victory at Selhurst Park this evening.

Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip were on target in the first half while Roberto Firmino fired home in the closing stages to quash the hosts’ hopes of a comeback.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in eight top-flight games and only goal difference separates them and their rivals at the top of the table.

But Henderson is keen for the Merseysiders to stay focused on themselves rather than the other teams around them in the standings.

“We’ve just go to concentrate on our games,” he told BT Sport. “We’re not getting ahead of ourselves.

“We’re focusing on the game ahead and want to keep it game to game,” said the Liverpool skipper.

Trips to Selhurst Park have been anything but straightforward for Liverpool in recent tyears and Henderson was delighted to get the better of Alan Pardew’s side.

“It’s a difficult place to come.

“It was a battle throughout game but, in the second half, we managed the game well. Then we managed to finish the game off and, overall, we are delighted.

“We need to look back at the game and at the mistakes, but we forgot about that and moved on,” Henderson added.
